Park History

Several years ago a number of veterans had an idea to honor veterans living and departed with a Memorial Park. After discussions with the local County Supervisors, land adjacent to the Veterans building was donated for the specific purpose of a Memorial Park. City and County resources have been used to help with the preparation of the property for park construction.

We wish to thank the City of Oxford and the County of Lafayette for their unending efforts to see this project completed. Without their tireless efforts to assist in the community project, the Veterans Memorial Park Board would have been in a much more difficult situation.

This park will be a lasting monument to all veterans and their families of North Mississippi. A perpetual source of pride, remembrance, and honor to those that gave so much for our freedom.
